HOW TO FILL YOUR VEHICLE FUEL WISELY

TIPS: HOW TO FILL YOUR VEHICLE FUEL WISELY

A friend sent a note:
I don’t know how much do you pay when filling fuel…but in here, in Durban, the fuel charge is so expensive.
My Friend have worked in fuel field for 31 years, so I can give you some tips so your money can be more worthy in each liter of fuel that you buy.
In Marian Hill Pipeline where my friend work in Durban, in 24 hours they infuse/deliver about 4 million liters.
One day diesel, next day aircraft jet fuel and petrol, LRP and Unleaded.
In here they have 34 storage tanks with all capacity of 16,800,000 liters.

BUY FUEL, OR FILL YOUR CAR OR BIKE WITH FUEL IN THE MORNING WHEN SOIL TEMPERATURE IS STILL COLD
Remember that each gas station has storage tank underground. The colder the ground then the fuel is more solid. If the temperature starts heating, then the fuels float. So if you buy fuel on afternoon or evening…actually the fuel that is filled in your car tank is lesser than the liter that you buy.
In gasoline business, specific gravity and temperature of gas, diesel, and aircraft, ethanol, and other gasoline product has important role. 1 degree increase is very influential in this business. But gas station doesn’t give any indemnity / compensation because of temperature.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT IS FILL THE FUEL WHEN YOUR VEHICLE TANK IS HALF FULL
The reason is the more fuel in your tank the less air inside the empty tank. Gasoline floats faster than we thought. Gasoline storage tank has what we call floating roof that function as clearance zero between gasoline and atmosphere so the floating can be reduced. Not like gas station, the place where I work for each truck loaded there is indemnity / compensation because of temperature, so each liter bought is exact.

THINGS TO REMEMBER, NEVER FILL FUEL WHEN THERE IS A FUEL TRUCK FILLING THE STORAGE TANK
Most likely the gasoline / diesel will be stirred when the fuel is pumped from the truck to the storage tank, and there may be dirt under the storage tank that also stirred up and go in your vehicle tank.
I hope this could help you to get the maximum value of your money that you use to buy gasoline.
